Enjoying “The Fremantle doctor” on the waters near Fremantle

This beautiful coastal port city is bordered by the Indian Ocean and the Swan River and is just 20 kms from Perth and 30 minutes from the Perth Airport. The City of Fremantle was established in 1829 as a port for the Swan River Colony and was the major city in Western Australia for much of its early history.

Fremantle's unique character is captured by its landscape, its heritage architecture, music, arts and culture, festivals, retail stores and markets, cafés and restaurants, which all contribute to its village style atmosphere - making it a popular destination for local and international visitors. The seas breeze, fondly known to the locals as the “Freemantle Doctors”, is pivotal for sailors competing in weekend events and international event often held in these waters.

Festive FremantleOne of Fremantle’s greatest attractions is its coastline of pristine beaches on the edge of the Indian Ocean. The City’s four main beaches are perfect for swimming, relaxing, kite surfing, paddling and other leisure activities. They offer a range of facilities that can be accessed year round, and are utilised by locals and tourists alike.
